Legally there is currently no minimum age for men or women to start with Botox treatments while most doctors do recommend that you only start with the treatments in your late twenties or early thirties. There has recently been a drastic rise in the number of people enquiring about Botox treatment within the age range of 18 – 23 although doctors suggest that these patients first try other methods to reduce wrinkles before starting with Botox as a treatment.
Botox is supposed to be a medical procedure and should not be seen as a Spa Treatment!
There are even medical conditions that may require the use of Botox in children under the age of twelve which has been performed with success although there are always many other options to consider prior to Botox. Botox actually has to be the last resort to turn to if all else fails as it is a medical procedure.
The Hollywood Stars make the procedure out to be more than what it is by setting examples of skin textures that are smoother than most teenagers causing an increased desire with the younger generations. Wrinkles are caused due to contractions of the face muscles, so the more a person frowns, the deeper the wrinkles become.
Relax people and you will help your face keep its natural smoothness.
Using Botox will not cause any permanent damage if done via the correct procedures using doctors who are professionals to perform the required techniques. Botox is only a treatment and also only works while the treatments are performed; it is not a cure to wrinkles as many young people might not be aware of this fact. Treatments have to be repeated every 3 to 6 months depending on how long the effects last.
There are though many women and men that start with Botox treatments from the ages of 23, 20 or even 19 that feel they would rather prevent the wrinkles from even starting as they do not want to settle for fillers later in life. These treatments can be done from as little as $15 per session nonetheless if you really want the correct treatment you will be looking at procedures between $500 and $1500 per session.

Botox should not be seen as the fix all wrinkle problems or just an effective way to keep your young appearance by teenagers or people prior to twenty-five. The perfect age to consider starting with Botox treatments is still widely recommended as being after twenty-seven. Doctors are concerned that if Botox treatments are started at a very young age the patient might actually develop an obsession and in the process lose themselves in the idea, instead of knowing what people naturally look like.
Although there is no proof, there are concerns that prolonged use could cause muscle atrophy. Muscle atrophy is the process muscles go through if not used for lengthy periods and then they start to fade away. The chances of this happening is enhanced by early starting of Botox treatments and it is feared that it could actually cause patients to look older than they are at a certain age, this is due to the tissue and muscles diminishing and only leaving bone covered with skin.
