I Woke Up Like This: How to Wake Up Flawless

While we all wish to be Beyoncé and wake up flawless every morning, most of us don’t. It doesn’t mean we can’t though! You don’t need to have a large bank account or a lavish lifestyle to start out your day looking your best. With some effort, you can wake up flawless, leaving girls curious about your secrets. Here are some tips and tricks to help you on your journey towards waking up flawless.

Always wash your face in the morning and night. You would be surprised at how many women do not wash off their makeup at night! It’s extremely important wash and remove a day’s worth of sweat, makeup, and grime. It allows your skin to breathe at night. You should also take the time to do a quick wash in the morning to remove any excess sebum that formed overnight during sleep. Remember ladies, this step is crucial if you want to wake up flawless.

Use the proper skincare. Your skin will not react properly if you do not take the proper and necessary steps for it. For example, if you have dry skin, you want a hydrating cream to quench and eliminate any dry patches. You wouldn’t want to use something that is mattifying or oil-free. However, regardless of what type of skin you have, you need to moisturize accordingly to keep it supple and soft. Your skincare should extend to the rest of your body so don’t forget to moisturize it as well! The best time for your skin to absorb any moisturizer is after a shower when pores are more open. So leave your favorite moisturizer in the bathroom and lotion up after you towel dry.

Take a little extra time on your hair. An easy way to get sexy hair in the AM is to braid it before you head to bed. At bedtime, apply your favorite styling cream on slightly damp hair and then braid your hair. When you wake up in the morning, just undo the braids and finger comb the waves out. Viola! Sexy beachy waves.

Avoid a puffy face by sleeping on your back. Did you know that your favorite sleeping position may be doing more harm than good? For those who love to sleep on their stomach or side, I’ve got some bad news for you. Sleeping in these positions can lead to the build-up of fluid around your eye area which can result in a puffy, bloated look. Instead, make it a habit to sleep on your back. Your head will be elevated by the pillows and you will decrease your chances of earning that unwanted puffy look.

Invest in luxurious pillow cases. Live like a diva and invest in some silk or satin pillow cases. Unlike cotton, silk will not exacerbate frizz or be a breeding ground for bacteria (which can lead to breakouts). Plus who doesn’t want to feel like a queen and sleep on lavish pillows? If your budget allows, you can even take it a step further and purchase high thread count bedsheets as well.
