A picture can speak a thousand words.
You may or may not have given it much thought what your profile picture is saying about you. It’s harder to critique ourselves. So let’s view some pictures through the eyes of men.
- Let’s take the swimsuit pic:
There are two different kinds. There’s the privately sexy swimsuit pic, and there’s the swimsuit pic at the beach, or on the boat with your friends.
The privately sexy swimsuit pic says you’re available, definitely sexy, and looking for love. You’re probably pretty crazy in bed! It’s worth seeing how far this can go.
The public swimsuit pic says, “Hey! Look at me! I’m out with my friends having fun!” Men see you as a crazy fun girl. You may or may not be available. But any guy interested is going to have to pass the friend test.
Then there’s the private selfie:
Private can mean many different things. But for sure, it means in this case that you’re the only one in the pic.
How comfortable are you in your own skin? Does it look like a mug shot? Does your smile look more like a sign of pain? If so, the crazy may be a little more clinical.
But if your selfie is fun and your smile is free and unrestrained, crazy isn’t such a bad thing here.
- Is your profile a kitten?
It doesn’t matter how old you are, you’re standing in the shoes of the crazy cat lady.
- You posted your kids as your profile picture!
Well that’s awesome! Though you’ll never know what kind of crazy men think you are because they think you’re a child, and if they’re trying to make friend requests you need to block them as soon as you can.
- Your pic is of you and your guy:
When men see this profile pic they think you are crazy in love! Some men are Jealous, some are disappointed, but the message is clear. This girl is taken.
- Your business profile pic:
You’ve got to be careful with this one. Make it look professional if you want to be taken seriously. Keep your hair in place. Pull it away from your face. Keep the business suit or dress sharp and clean. Now relax when you smile, but keep your shoulders straight – hold it – hold it. Perfect! Men see you as crazy good in business!
What’s the other version? Keep your dress neckline cut low and your hemline cut high. Wear your hair sexy around your shoulders; maybe cut low across the eye with a little wave would be nice. Don’t forget the push up bra. And throw your shoulder in towards the camera when you give that flirty laugh for your pic. There we go. You are now the crazy fun office toy. You probably won’t even need to learn how to hit the hold button on the phone.
We give off messages through our pictures whether we realize it or not. Most of us have a lifestyle that matches what we’re projecting in our pictures. Some of us don’t however. But now that you know what these pictures are saying to the opposite sex, take a look at your own and see if you can figure out what it is they’re saying about you. You might be surprised and a little tickled at some of the messages you accidentally put out. But just remember. The people who know you love you for the person you are. And that’s what’s really important in the long run. That the people we know can see beyond the pictures we post to the real person behind them.
