Tip 3: Revive your mascara formula with hot water. Sometimes if you are in a pinch and cannot get new mascara, you’ll just have to make do with what you have. When in a bind with clumpy mascara, place the tube in a cup of hot water. Let it sit for over five minutes and then apply. The heat of the water will make your mascara easier to work with and can help soften the formula. Remember to wipe the wand too!
