5 CINCO DE MAYO INSPIRED COCKTAILS

As the Cinco de Mayo holiday is all about fun and breezy cocktails, one of the ways to get you in the holiday mood is with some Cinco de Mayo inspired cocktails.

#1. Mexican Sunset 

One colorful cocktail for a holiday is Mexican Sunset. With about 6 oz of pineapple juice base, laced with 3 oz of silver tequila, this trendy drink is sufficient to fire up your Cinco de Mayo holiday. 

Other ingredients in a Mexican sunset are 1 oz amaretto, 1 oz peach schnapps, 1/2 oz grenadine, lime slices, maraschino cherries, and of course, ice cubes, all of which combine to produce a serving of the vibrant taste called Mexican sunset.

  1. Pour some ice into a shaker, add the amaretto, peach schnapps, silver tequila, and pineapple juice

Preparations (1 Serving)

  1. Crush 4 or 5 fresh (hulled) strawberries in a large tumbler
  2. Squeeze some lime, and add an ounce on the juice to the tumbler
  3. Add an ounce of triple sec. and tequila, and stir gently
  4. Mix some salt with a zest of lime on a flat plate. 
  5. Wet the edges of your margarita glass with a lime wedge
  6. Rim the edges of the tumbler with a mixture of salt-lime zest. You could also use lime and sugar zest instead.
  7. Add a half cup or ¾ of crushed ice. Then strain the strawberry margarita juice into the cup of crushed ice.
  8. To crown it all, add an ounce or more of champagne.

The pink color comes from the fresh pink grapefruit juice (4 ounces). Other components include 2 ounces of tequila, 1 ounce of simple syrup, 2 splashes of cranberry juice, fresh mint, and ice cubes,  you a serving of this classic margarita.

  1. Fill a shaker with ice cubes.
  2. Add tequila, grapefruit juice, and simple syrup. 
  3. Shake and put a chilled rocks glass filled with ice cubes.

Preparations (1 serving of pink raspberry lemonade)

  1. Rub a lemon wedge around the rim a tumbler, then dip rim into salt.
  2. Add some ice, lemon juice, tequila, pink lemonade, and triple sec.
