When Not to Wear a Thong

Women wear thong inner wear to mask their panty lines from public view. As good as that may look, wearing your favorite thongs is not healthy for you. The reason is that the piece of fabric that covers the parts of the rectum and vagina is not wide enough, so could move and get stuck in-between and infect the vagina and the bladder. You are more at risk if the underwear does not fit well. If the underwear is too small or too big, or even too skimpy, the material is likely to move position.

Let us consider some of the things that pose risks.

Wearing Nylon Instead of Cotton Underwear

Avoid underwear made of artificial materials like nylon because they trap germs in the form of moisture. Use cotton underwear which allows fresh air around your vagina and also lets your skin breath to maintain the acidity of the body and prevent vaginal infections. If you want to wear silky material as underwear, put on a bikini to avoid unpleasant results.

Wearing Workout Clothes All Day

Spandex leggings if worn throughout the day will block out air from entering into your skin. When your clothes become damp, the risk rises and bacteria grow, and the vagina is infected. Go with extra underwear if you quickly get moist down there. If you are going wear your workout leggings all day, then you should not wear the thong. A cotton panty is a healthier option.

Wearing a Short Skirt

If you are the type that wears a short skirt all day, you might be exposing yourself to infection. Going without pants worsens the situation as viruses bacteria could easily settle around your vagina.  When you seat around various places, you could always contact infections through sweat. So if you are going to be in a short skirt, you should avoid wearing a thong.

History of Bacterial Infections

There are people whose immune system is stronger, but some people cannot just get free from yeast or bacterial infection at the slightest exposure. If you are in that group, always go for bikini wear. Your constant infections may be connected to the thongs you wear, so you may need to look for better alternatives.

Pregnant and Prone to Infections

When you are pregnant, your immune system is often down, and this can increase your chances of having vaginal infections which could pose great risks to the unborn baby. Avoid wearing thongs as much as possible as you make an effort to carry that extra weight. If you are in any situation that leaves you prone to infections, avoid wearing thongs. If you are treating a disease, you should also stay away from wearing thongs until you are adequately treated.

Skipping Daily Shower

Changing Tampons Less Frequently

Changing your tampons less frequently could pose health risks and increase the possibility of bacterial infections. To avoid such a situation, use the lightest tampon and make sure you change it as frequently as needed.

Douching Deodorant

No matter the deodorant product you use, know that it can affect your body’s immunity to bacteria. For adequate protection, wear fuller underwear to keep out environmental infections.

Not Using Condom

Having multiple partners and not using a condom will expose you to infections. You could have thong irritation and high risk of getting STI.

You Are Sick
