There are though many women and men that start with Botox treatments from the ages of 23, 20 or even 19 that feel they would rather prevent the wrinkles from even starting as they do not want to settle for fillers later in life. Botox should not be seen as the fix all wrinkle problems or just an effective way to keep your young appearance by teenagers or people prior to twenty-five. Doctors are concerned that if Botox treatments are started at a very young age the patient might actually develop an obsession and in the process lose themselves in the idea, instead of knowing what people naturally look like.

Although there is no proof, there are concerns that prolonged use could cause muscle atrophy. Muscle atrophy is the process muscles go through if not used for lengthy periods and then they start to fade away. The chances of this happening is enhanced by early starting of Botox treatments and it is feared that it could actually cause patients to look older than they are at a certain age, this is due to the tissue and muscles diminishing and only leaving bone covered with skin.

If you are considering Botox for the first time it might be wise to wait until you are at least past twenty-five!
